Really? It’s bad enough to pay taxes mid-April, but to have to write your check during a snowstorm is just wrong. To attempt to ease the weight of this situation, the Moondance Inn is running a couple of pretty fine specials through May. It is as follows:

Moondance Inn Weekday night Special
Stay Sunday through Thursday night from $99 to $119 (regularly $125 to $149). All rooms feature private baths with two-person whirlpools, electric fireplaces, cookie and tea service in the afternoon, plus a full breakfast served at tables for two in our dining room. Moondance Inn Weekend night Special
Stay Friday or Saturday night from $139 to $159 per night (regularly $185 to $219). All rooms feature private baths with two-person whirlpools, electric fireplaces, wine and appetizers both evenings and a full breakfast served at tables for two in our dining room. Red Wing Holiday Events

If you would enjoy a true small town, home style Holiday, visit Red Wing. The day after Thanksgiving visit for the Holiday Stroll. Downtown Red Wing is decked out with lights, carolers, street food vendors, and many great shops to find unique holiday gifts. Return the first Saturday in December for the Bed and Breakfast Open House. Grand homes dating back to 1874 will be beautifully decorated. You can visit 5 B&B’s along with the historic St. James Hotel.

If you enjoy the holidays, you will love Red Wing. There is live theater at the Historic Sheldon Theater including “Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus” and the “Nutcracker.” December 10th, browse the artist studios at the Anderson Center for creative Christmas presents. Take in live music including Dan Mahar at Jimmy’s pub, REO Speedwagon at Treasure Island, and Jeffrey Broussard and the Creole Cowboys at the Sheldon.

There are many great downtown stores where you will find many wonderful and unique gifts. The Moondance Inn is running some great December specials including a discount on our gift certificates.

Thousands of people gather in downtown Red Wing the day after Thanksgiving to enjoy the beginning of the Christmas season. Red Wing’s historic downtown becomes the backdrop for all the turn-of-the-century activities that makes the Holiday Stroll such a fun event.
