We have a great Mother’s Day Special. Stay Friday and Saturday night in a luxurious room with private bath and two-person whirlpool, and enjoy wine and appetizers both nights, dinner Friday night at the Brickhouse Restaurant,a sumptuous breakfast both mornings, and a wine tasting for two plus a bottle of wine and two personal size gourmet pizzas at Falconer Vineyards. This all inclusive romance package starts at $398 plus tax. If this isn’t enough then think about petting a new puli puppy.

Really? It’s bad enough to pay taxes mid-April, but to have to write your check during a snowstorm is just wrong. To attempt to ease the weight of this situation, the Moondance Inn is running a couple of pretty fine specials through May. It is as follows:

Eagle Deals at the Moondance Inn

The number of bald eagles nesting in Red Wing has increased significantly. It is not unusual to watch them glide over the B&B. Happy New Year. If you need a quick get away to help recover from all the holiday stress think Red Wing. This weekend, January 4th and 5th, you can stay at the Moondance Inn at great savings. It’s absolutely beautiful in Red Wing. The trees are beginning to turn and the temperture is perfect. If you can get away on a Wednesday or Thursday night, stay with us and enjoy our great mid-week rates. In addition, we can set you up for a wine tasting, bottle of wine, and gourmet wood fired pizzas served while you overlook a secluded vineyard. This could make for a great, quick get away.

What a beautiful day in the neighborhood. While these two folks play checkers on the porch our other guests, earlier in the day enjoyed breakfast at their private tables for two on our grand front porch. What was today’s menu? We served fresh fruit with vanilla yogurt, home made morning glory muffins, toasted herbed Italian bread with scrambled eggs and potatoes and asparagus with hollandaise sauce drizzled nicely over all. I think it’s nap time now.

Thank you to the Uffda Shop, a fine everything you need Scandanavian retailer in downtown Red Wing. They chose the Moondance Inn to host their holiday party. It was a great group of people. We served an extensive appetizer menu plus a dinner that featured a creamy chicken alfredo for the main course and a side blue broccoli. The dessert was Irish trifle.

If you can’t make it to Red Wing to visit the Uffda Shop google their catalog on line. They ship everywhere.

If you enjoy the holidays, you will love Red Wing. There is live theater at the Historic Sheldon Theater including “Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus” and the “Nutcracker.” December 10th, browse the artist studios at the Anderson Center for creative Christmas presents. Take in live music including Dan Mahar at Jimmy’s pub, REO Speedwagon at Treasure Island, and Jeffrey Broussard and the Creole Cowboys at the Sheldon.

There are many great downtown stores where you will find many wonderful and unique gifts. The Moondance Inn is running some great December specials including a discount on our gift certificates.
