Great women’s clothing store
Is shopping a part of your vacation trip? You won’t find Nordstrom’s or Macy’s but you will find numerous unique stores to shop in Red Wing. Go Brazen is a very cool women’s clothing and jewelry store. The owner is welcoming, knowledgeable, and you don’t have to be a size 2 to find something you will love.

This band reminds me of great bluegrass and the original Pure Prairie League. Fantastic harmonies and beautiful instrumentation. Their latest album debuted at #1 on Billboards bluegrass chart. See them in the intimacy of Red Wing’s Sheldon Theater this Saturday, March 5th, at 7pm.

Hundreds of bald eagles are beginning their migration up the Mississippi River. You can easily watch them soar above Red Wing’s bluff country. You might want to take a scenic drive along the Mississippi to the National Eagle Center in Wabasha (one hour drive from Red Wing).
The Moondance Inn is running some great specials this time of year. Go to our Specials Page for details.

Toasty warm in the Moondance Inn great room.
It’s cold outside but nice and warm inside the Moondance. Some of our guests are skiing at Welch Ski Village. They will return to the inn and relax in their private two-person whirlpool. This evening we will serve them wine and appetizers in front of our great room fireplace. We are buying them a great steak dinner at the Bayside Steakhouse (check out our January specials). To enjoy all of this they only drove one hour from the Twin Cities.

One of the great adventures in this area is to drive the Great River Road. Red Wing serves as the starting point. You cross the river into Wisconsin and then follow the Mississippi River to Nelson Wisconsin. Along the way you will see breath taking scenery, pass through numerous quaint villages, enjoy great food, taste wine, and see bald eagles. You cross the river back to Wabasha and can stop to visit the National Eagle Center. It’s a great road trip easily completed in a day.

Look what the coleus drug in.
This is a great week to visit Red Wing. Davina and the Vagabonds, a hot New Orleans style blues and jazz band, kick it off Wednesday night, 7pm, with a free concert in the park. Friday starts Red Wing River City Days with live music starting at noon and going to 11pm followed by a laser light show. Saturday’s music begins at 5pm with the Back Channel Blues Band and followed at 8:30 by the Lamont Cranston Blues Band. A giant fireworks display follows. There are also food booths, rides for the kids, a beer tent, and a classic car show. All of this takes place right on the banks of the Mississippi.
