Big Walter Smith and the Groove Merchants will be playing at Red Wing’s Sheldon Theatre on February 5th. starting at 7pm. This is a “Club Sheldon” event which means you have the option to sit and listen or get up and dance on a huge stage behind the band. Wine and beer is available for purchase. Stay at Red Wing, MN. Stay New Yearâ€™s Eve in a luxurious room that features a private bath with a two-person whirlpool and a fireplace. Enjoy wine and appetizers in the evening plus a sumptuous breakfast, by candlelight, at your private table for two. A full dinner at Sarahâ€™s Restaurant (formerly the Nortonâ€™s) is included. Prices start at $260.00 plus tax.
Add a second night stay (Saturday night) at our standard room rate and enjoy all the above amenities plus wine and appetizers on Saturday evening and a candlelit breakfast both mornings. We will serve our traditional Cajun New Yearâ€™s Dinner on Saturday evening at candlelit tables for two. The menu includes our jambalaya, red beans and rice, garden salad, and our New Orleans style cream bread pudding. Prices start at $470.00 plus tax.
The day after Thanksgiving is Red Wing’s annual Holiday Stroll. A lighting ceremony, parade, fireworks, shopping, roasting chestnuts are all a part of this fun and festive evening.
Another great holiday event is the annual Bed and Breakfast open house on the first Sunday in December. 7 grand homes are decorated for your visit with refreshments served at each. All proceeds go to Habitat for Humanity. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. You can purchase tickets at the Red Wing VCB or any of the B&B’s. Tickets are free if you stay at one of the B&B’s.
One of our neighbors has this beautiful tree. The Mississippi Bluff country around Red Wing absolutely bursts with color. This autumn Red Wing will host numerous events including comedy and music at the Sheldon Theater, our 40th annual art fair, and art crawl, and more. If you are looking for an old time feel to the Fourth of July, travel no further than Red Wing. Take a Mississippi River cruise and watch the bald eagles soar. A historic trolley tour is a great way to learn about the rich architecture that exists in Red Wing. Listen to live reggae (????) on the river bank. Eat an old fashioned hot dog and lounge in a park. And, of course, at the end of the day watch a fantastic fireworks display over the Mississippi River.
