Red Wing is a town filled with flowers and gardeners. Simply take a walk through the historic district and enjoy all the colors. This weekend see even more color as you will find artists located outdoors, throughout Red Wing, creating works of art on canvas and answering questions you may have about their work. It is Red Wing’s Plein Air Arts Festival.

At last, some sunny weather. I might have even sweated the other day.
Red Wing, MN. is offering a wide range of activities. Would a river cruise to view bald eagles be of interest? Perhaps your preference is a historic trolley tour. How many of you would like to see how Red Wing Shoes are made. A factory tour is available. Sipping local produced wine while eating a gourmet wood fired pizza is yours at Falconer Vineyards. How about live comedy with Tim Allen? This is but a few of the many activities to enjoy when visiting Red Wing this summer.

You may know that Red Wing, Minnesota is a beautiful, historic, river city. You probably know it is the home of Red Wing Shoe and, at one time, Red Wing Pottery. I bet you didn’t know is a great place to dine. Here’s just a few options:
Modern American; gourmet food in a casual setting
Sushi
Classic American Supper Club
Jamaican food sitting by the river
Old English Style pub with great pub food
A classic diner
Mexican with outdoor dining
This is not even close to the full list of the dining variety Red Wing, MN. has to offer. Now that I have finished this blog I think I’ll get something to eat.

OK, it’s May 2nd, 2011 and it’s grey and cold. But on the bright side there are no floods here, flowers are budding, and tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and 60.
What’s happening in Red Wing, Minnesota this week? May 4 there is live music at Sarah’s Restaurant and on May 7 music at Jimmy’s Pub. If you are in to collecting, wheeling and dealing, etc. GET READY. The American Pickers are at Treasure Island on May 5 and from May 6 through May 8 there is the road warrior One Hundred Mile Garage Sale and it starts in Red Wing. Bring your U-Haul.

The Moondance Inn Bed and Breakfast foyer is rich in history. The chandelier, for example, was installed in 1904 and has the original globes. The woodwork is a combination of mahogany, butternut, oak, and walnut.

Is February really over? It seemed like the longest, shortest month. With March comes Spring and things to do in Red Wing. For instance: Music by the DitchLilies, 3/2/11 at Sarah’s Restaurant, Music by the Two Guys, 3/4/11 at Jimmy’s Pub, and great choral music by the Red Wing Singers, 3/5/11, at the historic Sheldon Theater.
How about shopping and dining? Dozens of great boutique stores and restaurants are open in downtown Red Wing as well as at the Pottery Place Mall. Great items to buy in beautifully restored Red Wing buildings.
Of course we would love for you to stay with us here, at the Moondance Inn Bed and Breakfast but, if not, you will find some of the finest lodging establishments in Minnesota right here in Red Wing.
