We have a great Mother’s Day Special. The number of bald eagles nesting in Red Wing has increased significantly. It is not unusual to watch them glide over the B&B. Official eagle spotting will be set up the next two weekends at Colville Park. Stay with us this weekend, January 25 and 26 and save $140 on any room. Do you like the blues? Do you like listening to the blues in an intimate setting with great acoustics? You won’t get much better than the Daddy Mack Blues Band from Memphis, Tennessee playing at the historic Sheldon Theater in Red Wing. The date is January 19 at 7pm,.

It’s absolutely beautiful in Red Wing. The trees are beginning to turn and the temperture is perfect. What a beautiful day in the neighborhood. While these two folks play checkers on the porch our other guests, earlier in the day enjoyed breakfast at their private tables for two on our grand front porch. What was today’s menu? We served fresh fruit with vanilla yogurt, home made morning glory muffins, toasted herbed Italian bread with scrambled eggs and potatoes and asparagus with hollandaise sauce drizzled nicely over all. I think it’s nap time now.

Thank you to the Uffda Shop, a fine everything you need Scandanavian retailer in downtown Red Wing. They chose the Moondance Inn to host their holiday party. It was a great group of people. We served an extensive appetizer menu plus a dinner that featured a creamy chicken alfredo for the main course and a side blue broccoli. The dessert was Irish trifle.

If you enjoy the holidays, you will love Red Wing. There is live theater at the Historic Sheldon Theater including “Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus” and the “Nutcracker.” December 10th, browse the artist studios at the Anderson Center for creative Christmas presents. Take in live music including Dan Mahar at Jimmy’s pub, REO Speedwagon at Treasure Island, and Jeffrey Broussard and the Creole Cowboys at the Sheldon.
